Chinese actress Li Landy has been making a wave in the Asian drama fandom recently after her fantasy drama, The Starry Love, becomes a huge hit, capturing the fascination of Chinese drama fans.Â
But who is this sweet girl from mainland China who is rising into popularity in Asian drama? Li Landy, also known by her English name Landy Li, is a Chinese actress of Hui ethnicity.Â

She was born in Beijing on September 2, 1999, and as of March 2023, she is only 23 years old. She debuted in acting as a child star. In 2009, at the age of 10 years old, she acted in the Chinese film, Love Who You Lose To?
However, her first television drama was in a series, Sword Heroes' Fate in 2011. She started getting attention when she starred in "Chinese Style Relationship" in 2016.

Landy Li rose to popularity in 2017 when she portrayed the role of Yu Zhou Zhou in the coming-of-age drama, My Huckleberry Friends, and as Su Tao in the historical romance fantasy drama, "Wu Xin: The Monster Killer Season 2".
She then starred in another historical drama, Dreaming Back to the Qing Dynasty in 2019 followed by Don't Disturb My Study and Go Into Your Heart in 2021.

Her star continues to shine this year when she portrayed the main role of Ki Guang Ye Tan, the younger sister of Li Guang Qing Kui (played by He Xuan Lin) in the highly popular fantasy drama, The Starry Love, directed by Zhu Ruibin, director of Ashes of Love, The Long Ballad, and The Blue Whisper.

The Starry Love is said to be part three of the "Honey Trilogy" of producer Andy Liu after Ashes of Love (2018) and Skate Into Love (2020). Don't know why it's called a trilogy when the plot of these three dramas are not related lol! Perhaps due to the Chinese character in the title of these dramas that has an English translation of "honey".

The Starry Love is one of the most popular Chinese dramas shown in the first quarter of 2023, with most drama viewers praising the quality of the production and the entertainment value of the drama as a whole.
The Starry Love is based on the novel, Love When the Stars Fall, and stars Landy Li, Chen Xing Xu, Luke Chen, and He Xuan Lin.Â

It tells the story of the queen of the human tribe who gave birth to twin girls. Respected by the entire tribe, the older sister Princess Qing Kui (played by He Xuan Lin), who is gentle and kind, is betrothed to the heavenly prince.Â
The younger sister, Princess Ye Tan (played by Landy Li), who is smart and cunning, is shunned by her own people. She is betrothed to the demon prince. But due to a mix-up, the two sisters ended up marrying the wrong husbands. However, it paves the way for two beautiful romances and also ignites a conspiracy that shakes the four realms.
In 2020, the producer, Andy Liu, tried to get Deng Lun and Yang Zi (main leads of Ashes of Love) to star in The Starry Love (as this has been touted to be the sequel of Ashes of Love), but the tight schedule of Yang Zi prevented the plan to push through.
It was a blessing in disguise because Deng Lun became embroiled in a tax evasion controversy in 2022 which made him "canceled" in the Chinese entertainment industry.
Li Landy will star in a modern drama this year, Angel Fall Sometimes, with Lin Yi. There's no schedule for airing yet but it might air in the third quarter of this year.Â

Li Landy has a lot in store for this year. She has two modern dramas soon to be aired, Sunrise and Enlighten Your Life with Liu Rui Lin, a sci-fi drama.
