Chinese actor, Wang Heidi or Dylan Wang, attended NBA All-Star Game this month in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA, as part of Tencent's foray into the global market.
Dylan is Tencent's best choice to be sent to this event. He is a good basketball player, he has good appeal that attracts a global audience, and he is widely popular.

No wonder during his presence at the All-Star Game of the NBA over the weekend, mixing with NBA legends and league standouts, he caught the attention of American basketball fans.

It is also not surprising because Dylan has fans all over the world due to the popularity of Chinese dramas in international streaming apps.
He even trended on the X platform (formerly Twitter) of the 2024 NBA All-Star Weekend's page, on Saturday night, topping other celebrities, and attracting more than 10,000 posts. The tally continued to rise on Sunday.

As a basketball aficionado, Dylan had the best time of his life when he participated in the All-Star basketball game.
He made his presence felt by hitting a 3-point shot during the second half, much to the delight of his fans and the live audience.
He played only in the second half but, at one point, scored two 4-pointers in a row. His team won 100-91. He was the third-leading scorer of his team with 18 points.
At his arrival at the Indianapolis International Airport before the game, fans swarmed to take a photo and videos of him. Fans shouted, “Didi,” referring to his Chinese name, Hei Di.
During the game, Dylan met many NBA legends including Paul Gasol and Lebron James. They exchanged gifts, posed for photos, talked in a locker room, and played a Pop-A-Shot basketball game.
As he exited Lucas Oil Stadium for the celebrity game, young women rushed to the area and took videos, yelling “DiDi”.
Fans found reasons to comment on so many of Wang’s interactions while in Indianapolis. One said, “When DiDi met with @TyHaliburton22 and played with him, it was incredibly beautiful and I’m so happy for my darling. He deserves it.”

Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton, during a Saturday news conference, was asked about the start of his own WeChat channel to interact with the Chinese market.
A reporter asked, “Is there anything you want to say to the Chinese fans who have been supporting you throughout the journey and also just for the All-Star Game?”
Haliburton responded, “I appreciate the love. It’s super cool to be on Chinese social, interacting with fans. That means a lot to me. So I appreciate that. I feel like that has a lot to do with me being first in fan votes. I know people see a player in Indiana and don’t expect that, but the love I’ve received from my fans in China has been amazing.”

Dylan Wang recounted meeting Lebron James. Despite his tiredness due to traveling across so many time zones to arrive in Indianapolis, he bounded from his hotel bed upon hearing about a chance to meet his NBA idol. When they met, Dylan said, he was excited when James unexpectedly reached out his hand.
They were later seen posing for photos, hugging, and Lebron signing his jersey to be given to Dylan. What a great experience for Didi!
