 
The 2024 TV Drama Awarding Ceremony organized by the Shanghai Oriental Media was held last night, March 28, 2024, in Shanghai, China. It was aired live on BesTV, the digital platform of the Shanghai Oriental Media, and will have a replay on April 6 on the Shanghai-based network, Dragon TV.
The award is meant to recognize the performances of drama stars and the outstanding drama series that promote China's culture, customs, and values. Dramas that reflect national ideals and pride in the realistic setting (we noticed that no ancient costume dramas are included in the awarding).

Most of the winners are from the series Blossom Shanghai (2023, Tencent/CCTV) and Always on the Move (2024, iQIYI/CCTV). Two series that showcase China's economic development and the challenges they embraced to attain social progress.
We're also glad to know that the committee of this award recognized the talent of Suleiman, known in China as Shaanxi Heiwa.Â

He is a foreigner of African-American descent living in China. He likes acting and his forte is comedy. He already appeared in the Chinese movie, The Wandering Earth 2.
It just shows that China is open to embracing cultural diversity and would reward foreigners who excel in their own field while establishing a career in the country.Â

Xiao Zhan and Zhao Jinmai who were recognized for their performances in The Youth Memories and Amidst a Snowstorm of Love respectively, were not present during the ceremony due to work, they just sent a video message accepting the award. Johnny Huang, who won an award for Bright Eyes in the Dark, also did not make it to the ceremony as he was filming a variety show.

Tiffany Tang wore a white tube ball gown to accept her award. The dress is from Alexis Mabille's 2017 collection. It emphasizes Tang Yan's slender waistline, accentuated with a white belt. The tube line has crystal embellishments which made the dress look very elegant. For her photocall before the ceremony, Tang Yan wore a black velvet dress from Ashi.

Elaine Zhong/Zhong Chuxi, who impressed viewers recently with her portrayal as Empress Wu in the detective costume drama, Judge Dee's Mystery (Youku), had a sweet red carpet moment with her Rising with the Wind co-star, Gong Jun.

Other gorgeous ladies who showcased their style on the red carpet were Ying Er, Dong Jie, Kitty Zhang, and Li Yitong. The male attendees also looked equally fabulous and dapper wearing their suits such as Wu Lei in a Zegna black suit, Gong Jun in a Balmain suit, and Bai Jingting in an all-white ensemble. Wang Ziqi looked so handsome in black trousers and a blazer.
