Welcome to the Year of the Snake! In Chinese culture and tradition, the New Year falls on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, officially beginning the Year of the Snake or the Chinese Lunar New Year. In Mainland China, the celebrations will span 15 days, concluding with the Lantern Festival on Wednesday, February 12.Â
Public holidays for the festival will run from January 28 to February 4, 2025, so workers have eight days off from work. Chinese New Year 2025 is the Year of the Snake, more specifically, the Wood Snake, starting from January 29th, 2025, and lasting until February 16th, 2026. Chinese New Year is also known as the Spring Festival.
