Each year, Korean actors temporarily depart the limelight to undergo their mandatory service. And this year has no different. Before December, several oppas will break fans' hearts as they temporarily bid goodbye to the K-drama and K-pop world.
Here are the eight idols who are going to enlist in the military this year:
1. Song Kang - born April 23, 1994, Song Kang rose to popularity in the series, Love Alarm (2019–21), Sweet Home (2020), Navillera (2021), Nevertheless (2021), and Forecasting Love and Weather (2022) with Park Min-young. He is popularly known as the "Son of Netflix" because most of his series are aired on the platform and become hits.
2. Nam Joo Hyuk - born on February 22, 1994, in Busan, South Korea, Nam Joo Hyuk rose to prominence in the series, Who Are You: School 2015 (2015). He became a household name when he appeared as a male lead in Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo (2016), The Bride of Habaek (2017), The Light in Your Eyes (2019), The School Nurse Files (2020), Start Up (2020), and the recent hit, Twenty-Five Twenty-One (2022).
With the success of The School Nurse Files and Start-Up, Nam was featured in Forbes' 30 Under 30 Asia list in 2021. He is set to star in the film, Remember.
3. Kang Tae Oh - The latest dude who stole many hearts is Kang Tae Oh due to the success of Extraordinary Attorney Woo. He was born Kim Yoon-hwan on June 20, 1994, and was a member of the actor group 5urprise.
He rose to popularity for his role in the television series My First First Love (2019), Run On (2020–2021), and the recent hit, Extraordinary Attorney Woo (2022). On August 31, 2022, Kang announced at a fan meeting that he would enlist for his mandatory military service on September 20, 2022.
4. Jinyoung - born on September 22, 1994, Jinyoung is the stage name of Park Jin Young, He is a native of Udo Island but grew up in Yongwon-dong, Jinhae-gu. He is a member of the boy band Got7 and boy band duo JJ Project.
Jinyoung made his acting debut in the drama Dream High 2 (2012), and got his male lead role in He Is Psychometric (2019). He made his film debut in the independent film A Stray Goat (2016).

He is a member of the South Korean-Chinese boy group Exo, its sub-group Exo-K and the sub-unit Exo-SC. He also starred in several television series and films. Secret Queen Makers (2018), Dokgo Rewind (2018), and Now, We Are Breaking Up (2021).
6. Kim Min Kyu - he was born on December 25, 1994. And was known for his appearance in the variety program, Crime Scene Season 3. Kim Min Kyu debuted in the series “Monstar,” in 2013, and gained international recognition for his roles in the television series Queen: Love and War (2019-20), Backstreet Rookie (2020), Snowdrop (2021-22), and Business Proposal (2022)

7. Na In Woo - born on September 17, 1994, Na In-woo rose to popularity when he played the role of Kim Byeong-in in the tvN hit historical drama, Mr. Queen (2020-2021), the 7th highest-rated drama in Korean cable television history.
In March 2021, he joined the KBS2 historical drama, River Where the Moon Rises as its male lead from the 6th episode, replacing Ji Soo who dropped out of the series following a bullying accusation. Despite the last-minute substitution, Na's acting and chemistry with the lead actress, Kim So-hyun, were well received by the audience.
He just starred in the recent Korean series, Jinxed at First, (aired between June and August 2022) with Seohyun.

8. Kim Woo Seok - born on March 3, 1994, he made his acting debut in 2017 via “Love Playlist: Season 2". He then starred in several hit K-dramas, including "Scripting Your Destiny", “Rookie Cops,” and “Military Prosecutor Doberman". He is set to star in a webtoon adaptation of “The Forbidden Marriage", but a looming military service might change the course of this project.
