Falling Into You Keeps Wu Lei and Dilraba Dilmurat Fans' Hopes Alive For Next Collaboration

So most Leo Wu and Dilraba Dilmurat fans we've spoken lately are watching Falling Into You and you might wonder why? Well, according to most of them, it's because it keeps their hopes for a second collaboration of LeiDi alive! 

But why of all drama? Well for a number of reasons. Falling Into You is a modern sports romance drama. And the female lead, Jin Chen, is seven-and-a-half years older than the male lead, Wang An Yu! Pretty much like the age gap of Wu Lei and Dilraba. 😍

It looks like there's a trend in the modern Chinese drama lately where the female lead is older than the male lead. 

For instance, Yang Mi and Xu Kai in "She and Her Perfect Husband". Yang Mi is eight years older than Xu Kai. Wang Yibo and Zhao Liying (who is 10 years older than Yibo) in Legend of Fei. Victoria Song and Song Weilong in "Find Yourself", Victoria is 12 years older than Weilong. 

Add to this trend is Wu Lei's upcoming drama, Nothing But Love or Just Love with Zhou Yutong. In the story, Wu Lei's character is 10 years younger than Yutong's character, however, in real life they only have a 5-year age gap. Wu Lei also portrays an athlete in Just Love who will fall in love with his coach/manager, Yutong's character.

And the most intriguing part is that Falling Into You and Nothing But Love have pretty much the same plot and storyline, Both sports modern drama where the male lead is an athlete who will fall in love with his lady coach or manager coach, who is pretty much older than him. 

So Falling Into You is pretty much like the preview of Wu Lei's Nothing But Love. And LeiDi fans are thrilled to watch Wu Lei starred in this type of story, on how he would look and feel like portraying a character who will fall in love with an older woman.

In The Long Ballad, the age gap of Li Changge and Ashile Sun was not really known, it was never highlighted in the story. So the age difference of their characters was immaterial, and no bearing in the mind of the viewers. 

In Falling Into You and Nothing But Love fans are visualizing Wu Lei in a parallel universe, falling in love with a woman who is slightly older than him. And thinking if it's click or okay for him. How would he act in the situation? What would be his reaction in real life portraying such character?

So there's so much anticipation building up in everyone's mind now while Watching Falling Into You. Will Dilraba and Wu Lei be given a chance to appear in this type of drama? What would they look like? Can they retain the sweetness they exhibited in The Long Ballad? Can they transport the magic of Li Changge and Ashile Sun in the modern drama?

Of course the modern drama would be very different from historical series. In modern drama, intimacy between leads is often the source of thrill and giggles among viewers, and we always expect some sugary scenes between the two leads. Thus, LeiDi fans are watching Falling Into You because it perfectly mirrors their anticipation of Wu Lei and Dilraba portraying such characters.

So this trend in the modern C-drama today gives much hope to the loyal fans of Wu Lei and Dilraba Dilmurat that very soon they will collaborate. And it looks like there's no problem with them, given the right script and the timing of their schedule.

Dilraba during her live stream appearance for The Blue Whisper promo, has already made it clear that she's okay to work in a modern drama where she is a bit older than the male lead, provided the age gap is just the same as her and Wu Lei - not more than eight years old. 

Yes! She mentioned Wu Lei during that interview as an example! So I guess, they are just waiting really for a great timing of schedule and the right script and storyline to push through with the next collaboration.

Leo Wu and Dilraba Dilmurat fans should not be worried because these two often run into each other on short projects and always had unexpected collaborations. 

It looks like they are always destined to work together and they looked pretty much relaxed and comfortable with each other so there's no reason why they could not work together again, especially in a drama.

By the way, Jin Chen already worked with Dilraba Dilmurat in two projects. She appeared in You Are My Glory as the ex-girlfriend of Yu Tu (played by Yang Yang), and in Mr. Pride vs. Mr. Prejudice movie of Dilraba, Leon Zhang, and Vengo Gao (2017).
