Chinese-Canadian actor, Shawn Dou, wed Laurinda Ho, on April 18, 2023, in a lavish ceremony in Bali, Indonesia that lasted two days. The wedding, which reportedly cost US$50 million, was held in the luxury resort, Six Senses Uluwatu Bali Hotel, and was attended by more than 100 guests.
Their dream wedding was filled with stunning ornaments creating a dramatic backdrop of a fairytale moment. Trees were planted and lush green plants hung above the glass canopy decorated with white and pink flowers.Â

The breathtaking ocean view completed the dreamy background of the event. There was a bridge that was built over the pool in the center of the venue, and elegant lotus flowers bloomed in the pool.Â
Laurinda Ho was a picture of a glamorous bride wearing two wedding gowns created by Vera Wang. She also wore a red qipao dress, a traditional Chinese ensemble. While Shawn Dou wore a matching red Chinese outfit also.
Laurinda also wore ornaments usually seen in a traditional Chinese wedding, although she kept it simple and chose three pairs of dragon and phoenix bracelets and a pendant to complement her qipao.
Shawn Dou, who grew up in Canada and went back to China to become an actor, debuted in acting in 2010 in Zhang Yimou's movie, The Love of the Hawthorn Tree, opposite Zhou Dongyu.Â
Shawn debuted on television in the hit Chinese series, Princess Agents (2017), playing the role of Yan Xun. He also appeared in Tribes and Empires: Storm of Prophecy (2017), See You Again (2019), The Legend of Xiao Chuo (2020), Tears in Heaven (2021), and Love in the Flames of War (2022).
Who is Laurinda Ho?
She is one of the 17 children of Hongkong-Macau billionaire, Stanley Ho, who died in May 2020 at the age of 98. He was the founder and chairman of SJM Holdings, which owns nineteen casinos in Macau including the Grand Lisboa.
Stanley Ho was nicknamed the Godfather and King of Gambling. When he passed away, his wealth was divided among his children. His daughter, Pansy Ho owns MGM Macau, and son, Lawrence Ho owns the City of Dreams, reportedly the third largest casino in the world.
Ho was the founder and chairman of Shun Tak Holdings, through which he owned many businesses including entertainment, tourism, shipping, real estate, banking, and air transport. It is estimated that his businesses employ almost one-fourth of the workforce of Macau.Â
