Song Hye-kyo Sizzles in the Red Carpet at Met Gala 2023

After winning the Best Actress Award at the 59th Baeksang Arts Award for her portrayal in "The Glory"  South Korean actress, Song Hye-kyo brought her glamour to the red carpet.

On May 1, 2023, she joined some of the world's gorgeous celebrities to attend this year's Met Gala held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.

It was Song Hye-kyo's debut at Met Gala. And she didn't disappoint! She looked so stunning in a pastel gown, a peachy satin dress from Fendi's spring and summer collection 2023. Kyo is one of the brand's global ambassadors.

According to Fendi's instagram account, Song Hye-kyo's dress, conceptualized by Fendi's Creative Director, Kim Jones, was inspired by the minimalism of the 1990s enriched with traditional couture techniques in a vision of romantic, yet cool feminity.

Song Hye-kyo met two Asian celebrities also during the event, Michelle Yeoh who won this year's Oscar's Best Actress Award for Everything Everywhere All at Once. And BlackPink's Jennie.

This year, the annual affair celebrates the exhibition “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty.” The gala honors the legacy of Lagerfeld—the late fashion designer and creative director of luxury fashion houses Chanel and Fendi. He also has his own eponymous line—and raise funds for The Met’s Costume Institute.

Everyone's hoping that Choupette, Karl Lagerfeld's beloved cat, will grace the event, after all she is the remaining living memory of the late fashion czar, but Choupette's official Instagram account denied this speculation. The Birman cat and her staff chose to stay at home in France. Lagerfeld died in 2019 from cancer.

Just as important as the exhibition, of course, is the star-studded red carpet spectacle that will take place as guests make their way up the famous Met steps.

After all, the Met Gala—often dubbed the “Super Bowl of fashion”—has created some of the most memorable (and viral) celebrity red carpet looks of world's famous celebrities. 

Over the years, fashion at Met Gala shows the artistic side of individuals who attended the event, some are shocking and controversial, but others chose to play safe and showed up their natural elements. 

This year, the A-list attendees were asked to dress “in honor of Karl Lagerfeld”—meaning you’re bound to see some custom ensembles that pay homage to Lagerfeld’s design signatures, most notably Chanel and Fendi ensembles.

Song Hye-kyo wore a charming floor-length satin peach gown from Fendi in a pastel shade and with pleated details around the waistline. It has a sizzling sweetheart bodice and a lacey hem. Which makes Song Hye-kyo looked so romantic.
