C-drama Stars Attend Elle Style Awards 2023. Fashion Hits and Misses

The Elle Style Awards 2023 in China was held on November 3, 2023, in the vibrant city of Hangzhou. The star-studded event aimed to celebrate Elle's 35th anniversary.

A number of Chinese drama stars attended the event, rocking in style with their fabulous fashion. But who were the standouts?

Gulinazha, Yang Zi, and Dilraba Dilmurat

Chinese actresses often sashayed in style during the red carpet gala, wearing the most stunning designer gowns of the season.

In the recent Elle Style Awards, C-drama stars came in full force with their stunning look. Some of them dazzled in the red carpet oozing with confidence as they gave their outfits unique character and identity.

We have a number of favorites but there were stars who messed up with their choices of outfits. Here are our hits and misses for this year's Elle Style Awards.

Celebrities don't need to wear elaborate gowns to impress on the red carpet, all they need is character and confidence to ace in style. Confidence to carry the dress well and character to give the dress a unique identity and glamor no matter how simple the design is.

Hits! Gulinazha, Liu Shishi, and Yang Zi were some of the most stylish C-Drama stars who graced the red carpet:

1. Gulinazha - One of our favorites during the Elle Style Awards 2023. Nazha looked magnificent, oozing with charm in her white, goddess-inspired ensemble.

The flowing skirt is heavily embellished with floral embroidery and crystal beads. The ensemble has a sexy top with embellishments. She completed her dramatic look with a sweeping veil. Nazha's attire is part of Rahul Mishra's 2023 autumn and spring collection.

For her pre-red carpet photo call, Gulinazha wore a body-hugging pearl-beaded halter white dress with a mermaid hem. She completed her look with a pearl necklace and dropped pearl earrings. We also love this dress of Nazha. It looked super elegant and mesmerizing with pearl embellishments in front all the way down to the thighs.

2. Liu Shishi - the Queen of costume drama is also the Queen of the red carpet! Liu Shishi dazzled in a dreamy gold silhouette gown with crystal swirls from Elie Saab. The royal-inspired dress has a stunning long train and sleeves.

This year's Elie Saab's haute couture collection is really one of the best in the fashion industry and we can't help but be mesmerized by the delicate pieces. It's all about gold and the beauty of sunrise and the swirl crystal art embroideries add magic to the overall look of the dress.

3. Guan Xiaotong - Another actress who wore an Elie Saab creation for this year's Elle Style Awards is Guan Xiaotong. The delicate dress has a princess-cut design in an off-the-shoulder fashion. The crystal swirls all over the dress made it looked more stunning and gorgeous.

4. Victoria Song - Although we don't like the red carpet choice of dress of Song Qian, we love her pre-red carpet dress. She dazzled in this piece! The burgundy tube gown from Zuhair Murad's 2023 spring and summer collection has a sexy tube design with sequins and crystal embellishments.

5. Yang Zi - This is our favorite Yang Zi's look for her red carpet 2023 appearances. The strapless white ball gown from Ronald van de Kemp's 2019 autumn-winter collection, looked simple but Yang Zi gave character to the dress. We love how she carried herself on the red carpet for this year's Elle Style Awards. She was so full of confidence and charm.

Yang Zi also shared snaps of her pre-red carpet look, wearing a blue strapless silhouette ruffled gown from Azzi & Osta's 2022 spring and summer collection.

Misses! These are the stars who we think picked wrong outfits for the events. They are pretty but the way they dressed up to the event seems out of place.

Dilraba Dilmurat - We know that Dilraba is breathtakingly beautiful and charming but sometimes her choice of a gown in her red carpet appearances this year is less than impressive.

Don't know if it's the fault of her fashion consultant, stylists, or whoever advises her on fashion stuff, but some of the pieces she wore this year never reflect her "goddess" vibe. A glaring example is this yellow silk gown which is totally out of place, to say the least.

Not certain what is the theme of this year's Elle Style Awards, but this yellow silk frock worn by Dilraba has a vintage vibe and reflects spring/summer time. The blue floral embroideries add to the messy look. It's from the designer, Miss Sohee, from its spring/summer 2023 collection.

Jin Chen - Another bad choice of dress for a red carpet look was the one worn by Jin Chen. The powder blue mermaid gown with a busy skirt design looked totally bland and unglamorous for a glittery style event like the Elle Style Awards night.

This blue gown is from Italian designer, Giambattista Valli. Jin Chen could have chosen something else for the red carpet gala, and this blue dress would have been her pre-red carpet gala photo call.

Cannot decide whether this trouser number worn by Zhou Dongyu during the Elle Style Awards night is a hit or miss. The sequin trousers and sleeveless crop top from Louis Vuitton looked gorgeous and exquisite and Zhou Dongyu carried it well. She still looked stylish.
