Five Asian Drama Stars in Long Term Romantic Relationships

Happy Valentine's day to all our Asian Drama readers and followers. Well, because today is a happy day of hearts, let's talk about enduring romances in Asian drama. 

We only include popular celebrity couples who are both active in the entertainment industry, and who are not yet married but are in long-term relationships. So we did not include Lee Jung-suk and IU who just recently confirmed they are in a relationship.

As you probably know by now, romantic relationships between popular stars are so challenging due to the constant threat of intrigues and pressure of being in the spotlight. 

Celebrity romances are always subject to intense public scrutiny, a target of bashing, hate, and other intriguing rumors that some of those never actually survive the three-year mark.

It takes a lot of effort, dedication, loyalty, faithfulness, trust, and determination, and not just love, to wind off the pressure of celebrity relationships, thus, we admire these pairs, who, despite their popular status, managed to keep their romances stable, alive, and intact.

Nadech and Yaya

1.  Thai drama - Nadech Kugimiya and Urassaya "Yaya" Sperbund since 2011. Speaking of long-term, enduring celebrity romance, nothing beat the stability of Nadech and Yaya's relationship. 

Nadech and Yaya first starred in the drama, Duang Jai Akkanee in 2010. Nadech was barely 19 and Yaya was just 17 years old. They began a relationship in 2011 but did not confirm their romance publicly until 2018.

Today, these two Thai drama darlings are still going strong and will mark their 12th anniversary. Wow! What an admirable couple! To think Both Nadech and Yaya are Thailand's biggest and most decorated drama stars.

They are constantly in the limelight and are actively doing drama with different partners. And yet they managed to keep their romance super alive and warm. They often went on a vacation together, and just recently they went skiing in Switzerland. 

They were last seen together in The Kinnaree Conspiracy (2022).

2. Thai drama - Mark Prin Suparat and Kimberley Anne Woltemas since 2013. Another Thai drama couple we admire. Mark and Kimmy are in a long-term relationship too. Like Nadech and Yaya, Mark and Kimmy are both Thai drama popular stars.

They also first met while doing drama together, Duang Jai Akkanee in 2010, just like Nadech and Yaya. But Mark and Kimmy did not begin a romantic relationship until 2013 when they collaborated again in another Thai drama.

In 2022, they celebrated their 9th anniversary and Mark Prin proposed to Kim in breathtaking Switzerland during their vacation with Nadech and Yaya. It's been a year since they are engaged but no schedule of their wedding yet.

3. Korean drama - Kim Woo-bin and Shin Min-ah since 2015. K-drama heartthrob, Kim Woo-bin, and K-drama actress, Shin Min-ah first met in January 2015 when they did a brand photoshoot of Giordano.

According to Dispatch, an online Korean publication, Kim Woo-bin, and Shin Min-ah began dating in July of that year. The dating rumor was confirmed by their respective agencies.

Kim Woo-bin and Shin Min-ah's relationship went through a trying time in 2017 when Woo-bin was diagnosed with nasopharyngeal cancer and needed to go through treatment.

Shin Min-ah proved her love for Woo-bin is through thick and thin, in sickness and in health, when she stayed with him all throughout his treatment sessions and became his rock. She helped him nourish back to health.

Woo-bin thoroughly recovered, thanks in part to Shin Min-ah's care, love, and affection. They both starred in "Our Blues" last year but did not play as lovers, and chose to be partnered with other stars, perhaps to protect the privacy of their romance. Eight years and going strong!

4. Chinese drama - Lu Han and Guan Xiaotong since 2017. Oh yes, Lu Han and Guan Xiaotong! Their relationship reveal in October 2017 made Weibo, China's most popular social media site, crash! And for days, their romance revelation trended on Weibo and Lu Han female fans were brokenhearted.  

Lu Ha is one of the most popular members of the Korean Chinese pop band, XO. He left the group, and Kris Wu, in 2014.

Guan Xiaotong is one of China's most popular young actresses and was named in 2018 as one of the Four Dan Actresses in mainland China, a title usually given to drama stars who have blockbuster films.

Lu Han and Guan Xiaotong met in early 2017, while filming their C-drama, Sports Combat. So by the time the drama was aired in 2018, they already revealed their relationship.

For years, their romance endured intense public scrutiny with some fans speculating the two already broke up. However, they proved the bashers wrong as their relationship remain strong.

In 2022, Lu Han and Guan Xiaotong were reportedly going to get married, however, no confirmation was given by their camps. But we are glad their romance endured and this year they will celebrate their 6th anniversary.

5. Korean drama Lee Seung-gi and Lee Da-in since 2020. Lee Seung-gi and Lee Da-in, just like Kim Woo-bin and Shin Min-ah, did not meet in a drama filming.

There's no specific information shared with the public about how they met but according to other publications, they met through common friends, and they both shared a common interest in playing golf.

Just weeks ago, Lee Seung-gi announced on his instagram account that he already proposed to Lee Da-in and she gladly accepted it. He also revealed that they will be going to get married this coming April 7, 2023. Congratulations and Best Wishes!
